December 4, 2024

Bangkok, is a city that i will visit at least 3 times a year. But when talk about Pattaya, i never been there before. Thanks to the invitation by Tourism Authority of Thailand, I managed to fly to Pattaya on the end of October to attending Thailand Yoga Art & Dance 2024 and meanwhile to exploring their tourist spots.

with Mr. Chaiwat Tamthai, Director of Tourism Authority of Thailand Pattaya Office

Pattaya is not an island, it is a coastal city in the Gulf of Thailand, just 150 km southeast of Bangkok –a mere two-hour drive. Pattaya beach lined with a bustling promenade, snorkelling, water sports, sunbathe or take trips to nearby islands. Pattaya’s pulsating nightlife is well known, all the way down Pattaya road is full of various entertainment options during the night time.

Read on to find out that what i did in this 4 days 3 nights in Pattaya.

I am a Yoga lover, this amazing Yoga event is just perfect for any who's doing Yoga.

We can discover diverse wellness practices with 117 classes led by 55 expert instructors, class categories including yoga, art, dance, cooking, Thai boxing, and Zumba workshops. Such an exciting experience!

📍The Sanctuary of Truth

It is an unfinished museum in Pattaya that is themed on the Ayutthaya Kingdom and of Buddhist and Hindu beliefs. It is the largest wooden castle in the world started in 1981, the attention to detail in the craftsmanship is truly breathtaking.

This castle does not attach itself to any religion, but it questions existence at its core with morals, and philosophies that are carved onto the castle walls.

Every detail of the structure showcases the skill and dedication that went into its creation, from the intricate carvings to the ornate designs, so impressive!

Whether you’re interested in art, culture, or architecture, this is a must-see when in Pattaya.

Dress codes: No revealing shirts and bottoms. Shawls and sarongs are available for lending with a 200 baht deposit.

📍Nong Nooch Garden

One of the must-see attractions in Pattaya, it is the largest botanical garden in South East Asia with spans over 600 acres. Nong Nooch Botanical Garden is a breathtaking horticultural masterpiece and features an extraordinary collection of plants, from giant cactuses, exotic orchids to tropical flowers, you can view the various endangered plants indigenous to SouthEast Asia in this park.

There are some meticulously landscaped themed gardens, including French, European, and traditional Thai gardens.

Adding to its charm, Nong Nooch Garden features more than 100 life-sized dinosaur sculptures exhibits representing the Triassic, Jurassic and Cretaceous periods.

Enjoy the cultural shows in the theatre that highlight traditional Thai dance and martial arts. There offers elephant performances also, but personally i feel bad and not enjoy to watching this performance due to morality.

I personally recommend at least spend half day to immerse yourself in the enchanting experience of Nong Nooch Botanical Garden, and better go in the morning because afternoon sun tends to be stronger than morning. Remember apply sunscreen liberally and frequently.

Getting around Pattaya is not as easy as in Bangkok. There’s no rail system but you have the choice of hiring driver, rent motorbike, public buses and taxis.

Honestly, hiring your own wheels is the one of the best way of getting around in Pattaya. I have required the contact number of my tour guide and driver from the trip organizer. Both of them are very friendly and helpful, especially the knowledgeable tour guide Nat.

For your reference,
Pattaya tour guide, Nat:089-444-9457
Pattaya driver, Ma-nop:061-8409119

That's all for how I’ve experienced in this few days and hope this Pattaya guide is helpful for you!
